Get More “PUNCH” Out of Your Contact Page

Your “Contact Us” page is one of your most critical website pages. You may be thinking, “Yes, that’s so obvious. Tell me something I don’t already know.” You’d be surprised at how many companies do not optimize the use of this page to get clients to connect with their organizations. It’s extremely important to focus on the impact of this page.

Remember, your customers need your contact information (i.e. phone number, email, possibly physical address, and other ways to connect with you through social media). If your contact page is done well, you are more likely to sell your products or services. It’s that simple.

It’s not an afterthought!

Well -written copy is crucial throughout the pages of your website. However, don’t think of your contact page as an afterthought. This page offers a powerful way to connect with potential customers and begin to build relationships with them. You need them to find value in what you offer. Be sure to use action- oriented language, including a clear call to action (with a specific offer). Make sure your page is brief and concise. Most people do not want to be bogged down filling out more forms, etc. In addition, always make sure your contact information is current. You do not want to lose potential customers due to inaccurate information.

Keep it simple!

Keep your contact information short and sweet. Visitors to your website don’t want to hunt for how to connect with you. Be certain all of your links are working (i.e. email, social media, etc.).

It’s important to only ask for a little information from your potential clients. Usually people are leery of giving away too much personal information right away. If they want or need to set up an appointment with you, setting up an online appointment maker is to your advantage.

It should look outstanding!

The aesthetics of your website makes a huge impression. Your contact page should be as engaging as the rest of your website and your brand should stand out!

Make sure your personality shines through on your contact page. Tailor the page to fit your target audience. Whatever your brand, make sure it is consistent all the way throughout your website. Your contact page should make your visitors excited to connect with you!

Make it mobile friendly!

Since most people connect on the Internet on their mobile devices, make sure to do your due diligence to ensure that your site is mobile responsive.

Here’s a simple contact page checklist:

  • A brief and friendly introduction of who you are and what you do (one or two sentences is great)
  • Your company name, physical address (if appropriate), phone numbers, fax number, and email address
  • Links to social media
  • Skype username
  • Map and directions (if applicable)
  • Hours of operation/appointment information
  • YOUR picture (and other key people)
  • CALL TO ACTION with your offer

It really is easy to make sure you’re getting the most out of your contact page. Take a little time to focus on this page and you’ll be surprised how many more connections you make!
